Kuang Si Falls - Luang Prabang

Kuang Si Waterfalls

Immerse yourself
in the tranquility of Kuang Si Falls,
a series of turquoise cascades
amidst lush jungle scenery.

The falls are composed of many cascades, with a main fall drop of 60 meters (200 feet). The upper tier is the largest and most impressive, with a wide cascade of water that plunges into a pool. The lower are smaller, but still beautiful with pools which are great spots for swimming and sunbathing.

The water in Kuang Si Waterfall is a stunning turquoise color, due to the presence of limestone rocks in the area. The rocks also give the water a slightly acidic pH, which helps to keep it clean and clear.

The falls are surrounded by lush jungle, which provides a cool and refreshing respite from the heat of the sun. The jungle is home to a variety of plants and animals, including monkeys, birds, and butterflies.

There is also a Bear Rescue Centre at the falls, taking care of Asiatic Black Bears that have been rescued from the illegal wildlife trade.
