Blue Chair Film Festival - Luang Prabang

Blue Chair Film Festival

The Blue Chair Film Festival,
also known as the Luang Prabang Film Festival,
gathers regional filmmakers in December each year.

The biennial festival features contemporary Southeast Asian film from across the region in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage town of Luang Prabang. Nightly performances and screenings welcome over 1,200 viewers at open air venues where the iconic blue chairs await. During the day, enjoy screenings, public discussions, and Q&A sessions with filmmakers.

Operating as a non-profit cultural organization, Blue Chair is committed to the celebration of Southeast Asian film and growth of local and regional film communities. Working with film professionals in Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, Blue Chair curates a unique program of feature-length and short films to share with audiences in Laos. The festival event brings together filmmakers to exchange ideas and experiences, inspiring collaboration and future projects by Southeast Asian storytellers.
